I am familiar with the Eastern Europe. This is my second time in Karlovy Vary and I am impressed by the festival as it seems to be one of the rare festivals that is actually popular one.

Jean-Marcu, o čem, podle Vás, svědčí skutečnost, že televizní společnosti v kulturní Evropě vysílají v tak vysoké míře jihoamerické telenovely a severoamerické "krváky" ?

HI Jean - Marc.. I have some questions... did you really dive in ice lake when you filmed Magic deep (I´m sorry I don´t know original title) in Andes or did you have a double?? And what about Jean Reno.. is it nice guy??? Thank you very much and enjoy you stay in Czech republic

No, I did it myself and place was actually in the French Alpes. I did all my stunts in the Big Blue. Jean Reno is still a lot of fun and thank you for the invitation to the Czech Republic.

Sometimes I would like to leave the theater watching the film that I dont like because it drains me spiritually. However I´ve been taught to be polite.

Co může jedinec udělat pro to, aby americký filmový průmysl (dobře živící miliony lidí) ještě mnohem větší množství lidí psychicky neničil (nevnucoval jim své pokřivené modly a nenabízel svá zvrácená řešení)? Díky.

He can indentified and have the freedom to critise it. I consider some of the action movies to be industrial molestation of the children.

I'm coming from Brühl(half an hour from Bitburg!), where we have a small cinema.We have been in Karlovy Vary for 4 days and we enjoyed it a lot. My question: where and when do the members of the jury,especially you, watch the films in competition and do you still watch other films? It would have been interesting and nice for us to meet you as a special actor and director.

We watch them with the public, usually at night in the Thermal cinema. Two films a day is enough for me so I have not seen any other films outside the competition. And hello to Bitburg!

I guess you are not allowed to say what you think about the movie Smoking room. But how would you explain the fact that so many poeple wanted to get in (becouse they thougt it would be something special) and after ten minutes so many people left?

Dobrý den, měl bych dvě otázky: 1) Co říkáte na Karlovarský festival - jak byste ho charkterizoval, co se vám tu (ne)líbí. 2) Mám velmi rád filmy Larse Von Triera, zajímalo by mě jak Vám se s ním spolupracuje - například jsem slyšel, že jeho vstah s Bjork na konci natáčení filmu Tanec v temnotách nebyl právě nejlepší. Díky a přeju hezký den.

I believe the Karlovy Vary festival is how I imagine the festival should be. Your public and culture has not been poluted by the West yet. My colaboration with Lars Von Trier is that of friends who want to play and have a fun. Bjork did not want to have a fun.

Some Scandinavien films are very good and I´m still a virgin to Czech cinema. That will change.
